VOIDS
Voids is a series of paintings that were inspired by the urban and rural environments of my childhood and adolescence, and the feelings of elsewhere (foreign or exotic places outside of Canada) that I had during this time. I view these works as explorations of my visual past, and how our past influences the future. The act of painting these works forced me to consider the wide variety of voids that exist within us all; and how we question, explore, test, and long to fill them.
