HORIZON LINES
Horizon Lines was an exercise in allowing the outside world to participate in the outcome of an image; leaving its mark, gesture, and effect on things. I began by drawing images in charcoal on 12 pieces of raw linen, and scattering them in a wooded lot during a fall/winter season. I then traveled the works back to my studio, stretched the linens, and painted on top of the vague images embedded in the linen underneath; exploring the window of the picture plane.
